How does children’s speaking ability impact their reading and writing skills? Increasing student interaction without explicit instruction does little to enhance content knowledge and support language development. Join this session to move children from passive observers to engaged speakers during learning through inquiry and structured talk. Discover strategies to increase authentic speaking opportunities and lift the level of discussion about books and writing. Improve students' communication skills in social and academic settings—ultimately sparking oral language growth, improving vocabulary acquisition, and enhancing kids’ ability to express ideas and grow new ideas.
