A Non-Registered Trainer account is for those who wish to use the Certificate Generation Tool for free. Non-Registered Trainers are NOT approved by TECPDS but provide training through other Child Care Licensing’s trainer requirements. Non-Registered Trainers will have the option to continue to a Registered Trainer application later if they choose to do so.
A Registered Trainer account is the traditional Trainer account associated with TECPDS. It requires completing a Texas Trainer application to determine the person’s qualifications to provide training to child care providers across the state. Registered Trainers will receive a Trainer ID number, which they will provide on their certificate to show their approval to train under Child Care Licensing’s Trainer Requirements. Registered trainers are granted free use of the Certificate Generation Tool as well. This type of account is best for professional trainers, consultants, and others committed to maintaining a high standard of excellence in their practice.
People who provide training to early childhood professionals can now add training certificates directly to Practitioner and Center Director accounts. So how is this done?
A center director or trainer can make a Registered Trainer or Non-Registered Trainer account on TECPDS. These users can access a free certificate generation tool, which creates certificates like the one being shown for training attendees. If the person providing the training uses this tool and has a user’s workforce ID number, they can automatically add this certificate to their account, saving time and effort.
If you would like more information about this type of account, please visit TECPDS.org and the About the Texas Trainer Registry page.
